Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD)

Description: Nepal was selected by the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF) to prepare a Readiness Plan to Reducing carbon Emissions by decreasing Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD) activities, which would prepare the country to receive possible carbon credits in a post Kyoto environment. The REDD Cell has been established at the Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation and Nepal is working towards the preparation of this readiness plan.
