Nepalese Youth for Climate Action (NYCA) is a youth led coalition of the Nepali youth and youth groups of Nepal tackling climate change, the biggest challenge of our generation. NYCA was established in August 12 , 2008 at International Youth day with the motto “Caring for Climate, Caring for Ourselves”. The network has active members and contact offices in all the 5 development regions of the country. NYCA works with universities, schools, organizations, and communities at national and international level to protect our future from the threats posed by climate change. NYCA inspire, educate, empower and mobilize young Nepalese to create a future that is economically prosperous, environmentally sustainable, and socially justice. Clean Energy Nepal (CEN) is serving as a secretariat to NYCA since the time of its establishment and continuously supporting the various youth based activities from its initial days. Vision: We envision an economically prosperous and sustainable Nepal where youth play an active role in leading the society towards cleaner future Goal: Our goal is to protect Nepal and the Nepali people from the adverse impacts of climate change by spreading awareness, advocating policies and taking action. We aim to play a key role in transitioning Nepal towards climate resilience by leading adaptation efforts and mitigation of GHGs through a diverse, nationwide, youth-led movement.. Objectives: We work with the following objectives • To raise awareness in local, national and international level regarding climate change. • To educate, empower and mobilize youth to achieve our goals and vision. • To establish network of youth at Local, National, Regional and Global level for the Climate Campaigning. • To conduct research and studies on the different components of climate change • To support the Nepalese government in international negotiations while lobbying for strong position. • To pressurize the large GHGs emitting countries for deeper cuts in their emission within their boundaries • To pressurize developed countries to assist with adequate and predictable financial support for adaptation and transfer of the technology in the developing country
